I just ordered at in-home elliptical machine. So, hopefully, when it arrives, I will be able to get back on program and incorporate some activity. Now that it is almost September, Hawaii is just around the corner and I will not be happy on that trip where I am currently. 'Cause I will tell you right now, the last photo weight post is NOT what the scale says!!
I will touch base in 2-3 weeks when my new equipment arrives :)

Week 6, Day 38
Weigh in...
So sorry for not posting on Monday. Life got away from me! I'm liking this weigh in because it means I am only .8 lbs away from reaching my first goal of 15 lbs by Kymberli's graduation. It is very much within reach :)
Life will continue to be crazy for awhile. I will do my best to post on Friday!

Day 33
Weigh in...
Still going down...just the way I like it :) And I have to say, I can tell I'm already much happier in the 70s. That girl in the mirror is not quite so bad to look at now. It's amazing what a decreasing scale does to your emotional state! Still have hard days. But sticking to it even when I don't want to is paying off.
See you Monday. Happy weekend!

Wahoo!! The second number changed!! Just barely, but it did. So glad to get rid of 9s and 8s :)

Week 5, Day 29
Weigh in...
OK, this is crazy! My scale goes up when I am working really hard following the rules. And the scale goes down when I'm less careful and allow myself a little freedom. Go figure! I don't really know what to think. I guess I keep going as best I can and not give too much credence to the scale.
I am pleased with where I am after 1 month... 11.6 lbs. down! I am still aiming for 15 lbs. lost by the end of the month. We'll see. My life will be changing this week (I will be going back to work) and I know it will become really challenging to stay on program. I plan on sticking with it though. I just have to keep repeating to myself "slow and steady wins the race...slow and steady..."
See ya Wednesday :)

Day 26
Weigh in...
Unhappy... Didn"t eat and drink enough Wed (due to a track meet)... Followed program well on Thurs-ate food groups (missed one starch), drank lots of water, walked 3 miles... And this is the reward? The scale went the wrong way! Discouraging!!

Day 24
Weigh in...
Not much to say this morning... The scale was fluctuating between 181.8 and 181.6 so I took the smaller number :) Could be a rough week... Feeling really emotional and it's hard to stay in control when I'm feeling out of control. We'll see...
Check in on Friday.

Week 4, Day 22
Weigh in...
WAHOO! I wanted to yell "for reals?!" The weekend was really tough to stay on track. And actually, at times, I didn't. There was an Honors awards for Geoffrey in Fresno, I wrestled in my own head on Sat., and there was a church picnic on Sunday. And I still was finally able to break the 10 lbs barrior!! So, at the beginning of week 4, I have officially lost 11 bs. Yay, me!! :) This will be just what I need to keep me out of the "pit" and be motivated to remain strong on the program. Here's hoping for a fabulous week! See you Wednesday :)

Day 19
Weigh in...
Ok, I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed this morning. Yes, it went down (barely) but I didn't "officially" hit my 10 lbs mark. I know I'm close and I will get there, but seeing the same weight all week is a bit discouraging. Although, I will tell you what I've learned after this week...
Now we are approaching the weekend, the hardest times for me. Pray that I will have the resolve to stick with the program and see the benefits even though the scale might not be cooperating ( in my mind). Thanks for loving "all of me" through this process! Hopefully I will have some good news to report on Monday! :)

*I must try and drink as much water as possible. And those of you who know me well, know I dislike plain water (tastes like medicine). But I have discovered it is the best weapon in helping the scale go down.
*I must eat at regular intervals. Going long periods of time without eating and then trying to get in all of the food requirements at once is not productive. Discovered this to be true on Wed. Kymberli and I were at her eye doctor's appt for over 3 hours (6:30p-9:50p) and that really messed up my eating schedule. Not being able to eat when I needed to and then eating so late actually caused the scale to go up.
*I must eat all the recommended food group portions. Again learned the hard way from Wed. night's experience. Not eating what the plan recommends produced a negative affect. Because I was away from home so long, some portions were skipped that night. And in case you are curious, my food group portions per day are as follows: 3 protein, 2 fruit, 2 vegetables, 2 starch, 1 dairy, 1 fat, 2 LA bars. I use a guide that tells me exactly what one portion is (ie, 4oz chicken=1 protein, 10 RF Wheat Thins=1 starch...)

Day 17
Weigh in...
Well, I realize that this might seem a bit uneventful but actually it's not. You see, even though the scale remained the same, that's a good thing :) I was hoping to officially enter into the double digits for weight lost today but I'm ok that it didn't happen. Eric's birthday was on Monday and I chose to "step off the wagon" briefly and enjoy birthday dinner with him and the kids. So the fact that I ate a meal (and dessert) "off program" and was able to maintain my number really is a good thing! And since I'm back to following the rules, here's hoping that Friday will officially see 10 lbs lost. :)
Cross your fingers...see you Friday!

Week 3, Day 15
Weigh in...
Yikes! I almost forgot to post this today. The number is good! So that means at the 2 week mark I'm down 9.6 lbs. I will certainly take it! Don't think I will really feel like I've lost weight for another few pounds though. Gotta just keep plugging along!
Will check in Wednesday!

Weigh in...
OK, this is a trend I like. I'm pleased with this weigh in. Hopefully, as long as I keep with the program and exercise regularly, it will continue :)
Have a great weekend. I will check in Monday :)

Day 10
Weigh in...
OK, this is much better. And I think it actually could have been a bit lower at the "normal" weigh in time because this one was documented closer to lunch time. I usually weigh first thing in the morning (7:30ish). Since I was still having scale issues, a new one was not purchased until later this morning. Hopefully this one will prove to be more accurate.
Still plugging along on the food requirements but am struggling with accomplishing any significant amount of exercise. I hate it so! I will get there...I hope.

Week 2, Day 8
Weigh in...
OK, now I realize that the scale went down, but if I may, I'm grouchy about this one! I have seen this number for the last 3 days and I'm not happy about it. And actually, it was .5 lower, until I got the camera :( So on this point, I'm going out to buy a new scale. It's done this before and I'm over it!! If I don the Pollyanna hat, I know that losing 6.5 lbs. the first week is a good start. However, when you are trying REALLY hard to stick with a program, the scale doesn't seem to go down fast enough. And I can tell that weekends are going to be a real challenge. Even with advanced planning, the weekend was tough. So what's the plan? Well, to just stick with it I guess. Eat what's on my list, increase walking (all the rain last week didn't help in this department either) and try not to be ruled by a number. And I think I will begin some kind of project to keep my mind occupied on something else. Anyone need any grocery bags, tote bags, shoe bags or dish towels??
Thanks for letting me rant. Next weigh in Wed.

Day 5
Weigh in
Yay! The scale went down again :) I think I have entered the "realistic" phase now. Weight will come off a bit slower now. I need to keep the big picture in mind-slow and steady...you know. Also, please pray that the numbers on the scale won't rule my life. Please help me to use the scale as a tool not the "be all, end all" measure of happiness. I can see that in my future, if I'm not careful.
Thanks for loving me as I am. Next weigh in on Monday. Wish me luck over the weekend!

Day 3
Weigh in day...
I survived the first 2 days :) Thank goodness the scale went down! And I'm pretty pleased with the result so far. It will motivate me to keep going.
Now the program changes a bit. I know have to keep track of what I eat. This is the daily breakdown:
3 proteins-2 vegetables-2 fruit-2 starch-1 dairy-1 fat-2 program bars. Plus some unlimited veggies and beverages. As long as I "follow the rules" I should have good results. Next weigh in on Friday :)

Monday, April 9, 2012
Welcome!
Thanks for joining me as I begin a new weight loss program (again). I am not happy to be here, actually. I told myself that last time I lost weight that I wouldn't be. Well... I guess this is what happens when you get too comfortable and careless. You have to start all over again!! Anyway, starting over again... I will be using the same program I had success with 5 years ago- LA Weight Loss. It worked for me then, hopefully it will work for me now. The program has not changed much, which is good, because I am still familiar with how to "think" on this program. The only downside is that all of the centers have closed in town. Hence the need for this blog. I will be using this blog as if I was going in to the center to weigh in and meet with a counselor. You get to be my counselor :) The program asked that you weigh in 3 times a week the last time I participated. So I will be posting my weigh ins here 3 times a week. Might seem a bit extreme, but it worked for me last time, and I'm hoping that if I have to post my weight on the internet 3 times a week it will motivate me to stay on track and make sure that I don't have to post the same weight twice! And believe me, I DO NOT like the idea of posting my weight now, it's actually a bit embarrassing. But desperate times call for desperate measures!
So after all that long explanation, Day 1 begins today! Here is my starting weight... Yikes!
The program begins with 2 days of unlimited protein, unlimited green vegetables and a fruit juice designed to jump start the program. I will also try to begin walking today, which is my preferred method of exercise.
My first goal is to lose 15lbs (more would be nice) by Kymberli's graduation. Wish me luck! I will keep you posted! Next weigh in on Wednesday :)
